June is the official month of camping! We’ve put together a list of Maryland’s best campsites to head to for a day and night of outdoor fun! So pack up the tent and don’t forget the marshmallows. We’re going camping!

Patapsco Valley State Park

Head to this famed Maryland State Park to participate in the OPERATION: CAMPOUT program. Just a  few minutes away from ourSamuel Grantcommunity in Ellicott City, this incredibly helpful program allows park staff to lend park guest camp gear free of charge; including a tent, stove, chairs and more. This provides the perfect opportunity to connect with family and friends in a safe environment without the hassle of packing all the bulky camp gear.

Tuckahoe State Park

Just a few minutes across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge awaits Tuckahoe State Park! The 20 mile park offers a variety of picturesque spots to set up your campsite! Each site is equipped with a camping pad, picnic table, and fire ring. Be on the lookout for beavers, eagles, and osprey as you explore this Maryland park on your camping trip.

Elk Neck State Park

Enjoy over 2,188 acres of varied landscapes including marshlands, heavily wooded areas, white clay cliffs, and sandy shorelines. Located in North East, MD, Elk Neck State Park offers breathtaking views of the Chesapeake Bay. Get the campfire roaring at one of 250 campsites located in the park.

Cunningham Falls State Park

Located in Maryland’s beautiful Catoctin Mountains, Cunningham Falls State Park should definitely be on your summer bucket list! Divided into two unique areas, the park offers 127 campsites, 43 electric hook-ups, and plenty of outdoor leisure activities to enjoy. Head to the Cunningham waterfalls or climb to the peak of Catoctin Mountains for a breathtaking view.
